Welcome to the 2023 Direct Care Worker Conference - Making a Difference Together. Direct Care Workers (DCWs) provide vital services that allow people with disabilities and older adults to remain in their homes and communities. This DCW conference provides skills training on multiple topics that are relevant to this work with engaging sessions to encourage DCWs for the important and necessary work that they do.
The conference, including meals and an overnight accommodation at the Hershey Lodge on Friday, April 21 is offered at no charge to DCWs. The conference is sponsored by the Center for Independent Living of Central PA (CILCP) with grant funds from the PA Department of Labor and Industry.

Preventing accidents and injuries requires a safe work environment. Following the general principles of body mechanics, fire and electrical safety, and personal safety, this training session is designed to address the safety considerations a Direct Care Worker may encounter on the job and provide awareness to prevent accidents.
