Learning to Listen & Being Person Driven (Part One)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

What we do in the name of helping often unintentionally creates conditions where we are not meeting the most basic needs of the people we support. Being Person Driven is a vehicle for connection and the creation of a helpful relationship, making us more effective at what we do. This framework is very simple and powerful, yet not habitual for most people.

This session is the first of a three-part presentation that will introduce attendees to a set of simple competencies and three new habits that they can use to create a powerful way to connect with others. Attendees will better appreciate that when we develop our ability to partner with people and create a culture of connection and feedback, the people who choose our services are more likely to experience us as helpful.

Part 1: Being Aware & Taking Responsibility For The Choices We Are Making
In this session, attendees will have an opportunity to learn how critical it is for us to appreciate that we are actively shaping the reality we perceive when we are trying to listen and help someone. Attendees will learn how the Person Driven Framework was developed to assist anyone interested become a better listener.
